Service Project

Today we had a blast helping at a service project sponsored by our Church and State Farm. We did free kidprints at the soccer fields here in Cabot. The kids got their picture took, then fingerprinted ( that's where I was), then assembled it all into a booklet that had several more pages for later updates. Of course there were stickers and fun things to. Joanna was the State Farm bear for awhile! She had a lot of fun going around letting everyone know about the kidprints and hugging kids. It was a great day.

What's Happening

Well, I have enjoyed reading everyone elses blogs and haven't updated in forever! So here goes:
Jimmy is the new cub scout committee chairman in our ward...back to scouting. He is enjoying it and plans to create a scouting room for the boys. I think it will be alot of fun. I am still in Relief Society and have a training meeting to do this weekend. I hope to inspire all the enrichment counselors in our stake...we'll see! I am taking an insane course at ASUB with an insane teacher who gives an insane amount of work. (I might be going insane). Joanna has started a new job at Colton's Steakhouse. So if you visit and order a salad, dessert or rolls she will probably be the one making it! At least on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. Jamie and Mike now live in NLR over by the Mall. It's a real cute apartment and right in the middle of everything. Jake and Emily are often seen going through here. They are looking happy as ever. Josh and Kim are pregnant (3rd grand baby on the way!!). Congratulations to them! Chris, Jessica, Summer and Melanie are almost finished building their house in Hyrum, Utah. They should be moving in by the end of the month. It's beautiful! Spring is almost here and I am getting in the gardening mood. Can't wait for the fresh veges to start popping out of the ground. Wish it could be effortless on our part, but then (I'm sure) it wouldn't be as fun. Will post pictures when it takes off.

Our Angel

Christmas!

We had a great time having all the kids together this year. Jessica and her family: Chris, Summer (5), and Melanie (1 yr today!), Josh and Kim (they are now expecting!), Jake and Emily, Jamie and Mike and Joanna. It was lovely. We had so much fun with the grandkids. Summer is a blast. Melanie is sweet and adorable. We did our traditional nativity scene on Christmas eve. Everyone who didn't have their own kids yet had to participate while parents got to watch.
Jamie and Mike were Mary and Joseph, Melanie the baby Jesus, Jake and Emily were the shepherds, Joanna - the wiseman/woman, and Summer was the angel. It was great. We opened one gift each on Christmas eve and saved the rest for the morning. Everyone got back to our house by 7 am so we could watch the grandkids open their presents from Santa. Then we all had breakfast and a great day. It was great fun. Lots of games were played and food was eaten. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Jo's 18!!!

I can't believe Joanna turned 18. It doesn't seem real. The time really does just fly by. We had a fun time together. We had the birthday dinner and played games. Everyone told tons of stories and we laughed sooo much. I love the fun memories. I even got to hear several I had never heard before....that's what happens after they are old enough not to get into trouble! Then you get to hear the crazy things they did when they were younger. We heard the one about Josh and Jake shooting a wild pig with their bb guns ( whoo hoo!) and getting chased up a tree. We heard when they left their bb guns in the yard and 3 year old Jamie picks one up and shoots it at them (trying to be like the big brothers). We heard about Joanna jumping off the ladder when Jake convinced her she could fly (broke her leg). Another where Josh convinced Jo to let him shoot his paintball gun at the hat on her head while she stood very still...missed and hit her forehead. When the kids caught fish at the neighbors pond and kept them in 100 degree heat by the porch til Dad got home to see. Ooooh... that one stunk!! There were so many funny stories. I loved it!

Josh just got a new motorcycle. I told him I do not want any of the phone calls like in the past. Nope. Can't handle that. If you know our family's episodes with motorcycles you will understand. Too many accidents. No, really, I do hope he has fun, just safely. Maybe I am the only one scared of those things. :)

Happy Halloween everyone! We got together and made our annual jack-0-lanterns.
Here are some pictures. It was tons of fun! Jo is driving...alot, eeek! and she's getting braces tomorrow - a great way to celebrate Halloween :) She also has her first 'college' art show coming up and everyone is invited. It's Dec. 1st to the 7th.
